VW Extra Recline Bracket for T5, T6 and T6.1
The VW extra recline bracket improves the standard double passenger seat in VW Transporter T5, T6 and T6.1 vans and campers made from 2003 to 2024.
Many owners find the factory double passenger seat too upright, particularly on longer journeys. Therefore, this backrest-angle correction bracket provides a practical solution without requiring a replacement seat. As a result, passengers can enjoy a more relaxed seating position while commuting or travelling on a longer journeys.
Designed for a straightforward fit
The passenger-seat recline bracket directly replaces the original OEM bracket and provides a secure, accurate fit. You need only one bracket for each seat. In addition, the bracket works with the standard VW double passenger seat and alongside ours or other branded seat swivel plates.
We make the component from solid, precision laser-cut steel and finish it with a satin-black powder coating to complement the existing seat base. Furthermore, we M1 safety-tested this recline upgrade together with our Gen 2 VW swivel plate.

Fitting and suitability
We offer a fitting service at our workshop in Chertsey, KT16 8EA. Alternatively, you can install the recline bracket yourself with clear instructions provided in the box. However, please contact us before ordering if you remain unsure about vehicle compatibility.
Please note: It is not compatible for use in a van that still has a bulkhead panel in place.

First class product and service from MS Craft. Fitting fairly straight forward, though have to say VW have not made this easy to do as access to bolts is very restricted. That’s not MS Craft`s issue at all, just pointing it out for others looking to purchase this item. Myself and my son able to do this, took more than an hour to do as we had the access to bolts issue and clearly not the same tools used in a factory/build scenario lol. The result though is absolutely transformative. Double passenger seat gone from very upright and uncomfortable for long journeys to a perfect seating position making any journey a pleasure not a pain. Already been out in the van for a couple of days trips and the wife loves the new seating position 🙂 Happy wife, happy life. If any of you VW Transporter fans out there thinking of doing this change, stop thinking and just do it, best £70 spent in ages.

Had read the previous review on this product and decided to give it a try as my wife who doesn’t drive usually complains about bad black etc from upright front seat in our transporter.
Quick delivery and product as described. It was fitted by a family friend who is a mechanic and was fitted with no issues.
We have just returned from our annual trip to Scotland and after 1600 miles in van my wife didn’t complain once about her back and found the seat a lot more comfortable

Just finished fitting the new bracket. Easy to fit; straight swap. Big improvement, you could actually have a comfortable snooze now, if you wanted. The wife who is the main beneficiary likes it very much and feels ready for some nice trips; hopefully awake! The only point that may be of interest to some, is that the seat back (obviously) extends further into the van, but theirs always a trade off with these things. Transporters are all about compromises in the cabin, but on balance: net gain 👍

We’ve had our T5 for 5 years now and the standard double seat was really uncomfortable, to the point that I was about to get some new seats at great expense. I thought I’d give this bracket a go first. Having had the MS Craft swivel base for a few years I knew the quality would be good. It took me about an hour to fit with no problems. we test drove the seat just now and what a difference! My wife loved it. I have just ordered a headrest cusion to make it just a little extra comfortable. Highly recommended.
